Random Thoughts On Recruiting – Weekly Recap

September 24, 2010 Leave a comment Go to comments

Well, we had another solid week for new job flow, at least solid for the post bubble world we live in.  We have new jobs in design and sales, material handling, and agriculture along with skincare.

We’ve also seen job flow get a little more consistent lately and we are now finding more companies that need to hire and need help on certain positions.  Deals still stall and things change rapidly for companies.  While many situations seem very promising, everything feels a bit unstable and you can’t trust any one situation to hold out.  So this is all okay.  Not exciting, but okay.

The one thing I am excited about is that all parts of the system are producing at least at decent levels for the first time in a long time.  So I’m looking forward to more deal flow and lots of opportunities to fill positions where the need is there.

I went to a concert last night that I really didn’t think was going to draw all that well and we couldn’t find a spot in the lawn area because it was so packed.  I did get a reservation for dinner for my daughter’s birthday for Saturday night, but I called ahead by a week just to make sure.  I’ve heard that reservations have been really tight.  So how bad is our economy?  I don’t know.  People are obviously still doing things, but business still seems to be really hampered.  Feels more like people are just not willing to let go of their lifestyle.  We’ll see.
