Random Thoughts On Recruiting – How To Make the Hard To Fill Job Easy

Find the right candidate.  That’s the answer and it’s not meant to be a smart alec answer.  Third party recruiting these days is all about filling the difficult to fill positions.  We don’t get lay ups any more.

That’s a good thing and that is what our industry should have and did evolve into.  But the hard to fill job suddenly becomes easy when you find the right candidate or a right candidate.  All of the factors you need to fill a position are there in spades with the difficult to fill positions.  Clients need the right candidate and they are not able to find them on their own.  The ability for us to expand the reach for the client and find the right person is tremendously valuable in that situation.  Once you bring a candidate that is a fit to a hiring manager on a hard to fill position, the deal is set up and the fill becomes easy.

That’s the nature of the beast and that is why we like the difficult positions.  As always in recruiting, when we win, everyone wins.
