Random Thoughts On Recruiting – Personal Income Up

This really surprises me. It hasn’t felt in general like incomes are going up. However, when you look into it, certain areas of the country (DC and San Jose shockingly) and certain industries have had the biggest impact. This falls well in line with what we’ve seen in recruiting. Some areas and some industries doing pretty well. Others, not so well. I’m becoming more and more interested in the story line here that we have a separation in this country of people who have learned to make it work in the post bubble world and others who have not.

Some of this is luck and the industry you are in, but much of it is not. I’m sure of that. There is a lot of value in understanding why this is going on.

Personal income increased by 2.9 in 2010, after falling 1.9 percent in 2009.
