Great vs Good

The other day I read something saying that a Great _____ is worth 30 times what a Good _____ is.  I can’t remember what the ____ was, but that doesn’t matter.  Could have been a Salesperson, a CEO, a Project Manager, or a Service Tech.

The concept is a thoughtful one for those of us in recruiting.  The impact of one person in a company is significant when you look at it over the total time that they work for that company.  More significant for some than others, but it can be really significant at all levels.  Look at your best employees and imagine what the business would look like if you never had them.  Look at your worst performers and imagine what the business would look like if they were much stronger.
