More Willing To Move

The other day I read something saying that because companies slimmed down during the Great Recession, the burden on workers who maintained their jobs became much greater.  In an effort for greater efficiency, companies required employees to work harder for the same or less pay.  So now they say employees are looking to make a change for better pay and less pressure.

I’m not sure I buy into the whole concept, although it is clear that companies have been pushing for greater efficiency.  We do see more people interested in making a change to better their careers.  When more companies are doing well, there are more needs and more compensation available to meet those needs.  This combined with a greater career comfort level for more employees gives us a larger pool of people that are open to improving their situation with a move.
