I read a decent blog today about empathy and how important it is in business. For recruiters I think empathy is critical to both your success and your mental well being.

In our industry you need to be able to put yourself in the shoes of both the candidate and the hiring authority. That’s not easy. Both have extremely important and highly charged agendas.

A real ability to understand both will make you much better at what you do. A lack of ability to understand both may end up driving you crazy.
