Be Real

I recently read a blog that said many employers include looking up Facebook profiles when checking up or doing background checks on candidates.

It’s true.  While there is all kinds of talk about social media as a recruiting tool, it has become an actual follow up or background tool.  More often I hear from clients that they looked up a Linkedin profile on a candidate we have submitted and have some questions on what they saw there.

I’m not into candidate advice, but the rules of connection and exposure and social media dictate that you better be real (and respectable).  Real helps.  Not real doesn’t.
