Need To Know Basis

October 14, 2012 Leave a comment Go to comments

Most people have been told that they are on a “Need To Know” basis regarding some issue at some point. Whether it comes from a parent or a manager or someone else, it means some information is not going to be shared.

If you trust your parent, manager, client, or candidate then this is okay. We’re all on a “Need To Know” basis at times. If you respect and trust the person that has you on it, it shouldn’t be a problem.

While everything in your post is true, I would like to add that an IT job with a government contractor is probably the worst situation in this respect.

The need to keep company security, customer (government) security, and general IT security makes for a very large impediment for anyone wishing to rise in the ranks.

Unless your content with your current level of expertise or willing to fork out your own money for constant certifications and advancement look for better IT jobs elsewhere.
