Economic Growth – Ready For A Good Year?

November 30, 2012 Leave a comment Go to comments

Business conditions certainly impact recruiting so I like to be aware of what’s going on. Here is some interesting commentary from an article I recently read.

In January of 2011 the Fed was forecasting economic growth for 2011 at 3.7% which turned out to be 1.7%. The 2012 prediction of near 4% growth is currently at 1.8% and the 2013 prediction has already been revised from 4% to just 2.9%. If the economy hits 2.9% growth next year that would indeed be a “very good year” for the economy coming off the current state of growth.

We are in a slow growth period, less than 3 percent per year. Predictions have been overly optimistic, or maybe they are just getting more realistic. I feel pretty good about the outlook that we will see at least the slow growth we have seen. Maybe a little better.
