When Your Candidate Chooses Another Job

December 9, 2012 Leave a comment Go to comments

Good candidates have options. Talented people are in high demand. So what do you do when your candidate chooses another position over yours?

You congratulate them. Then you go find the right candidate. Sometimes a candidate is better off in a different place. It’s not just about filling the position no matter what or just about the fee if you are external. It’s about finding the right fit. If a candidate is sold on the wrong position for the wrong reasons, everyone loses.

Recruiting is about situations where everyone wins.

Too often Todd I think the tendancy is for some less than wise Employer’s is to immediately terminate the employee and feel some resentment at having to start the hiring process.
