A big sales pitch, expertly delivered, followed by poor work is a complete waste and will be viewed as a lie.

Your best pitch is your work. This is true across industries and professions and, like most thing, is more apparent in recruiting. A sales pitch may get you an opportunity, but that’s all. Your work makes the sale.
