Between Reaching and Connecting

I read an interesting post about Reaching vs Connecting and there have been some interesting articles written about this topic.

Reaching is not Connecting. There is no doubt that this is true. Many of us can reach lots of people and don’t make a real connection with them. We are connected on Facebook or LinkedIn, but do we have a meaningful connection?

Meaningful connections are great and valuable in many situations, but let’s not lose sight of reality. In business and recruiting, a meaningful connection is not the goal with everyone we reach. In most cases, more than just reaching and less than a meaningful connection is where we want to be, and that’s a lot easier to get to than meaningful connection (it’s also harder to get to than just reaching).
