Misplaced Focus

Focus on the result, the hire, causes the wheels to come off in recruiting.

When you are focused on the hire and getting it done, it’s natural to try to make it happen. But this becomes counter productive and poisons the process. Good recruiting is about finding the right match, not making a match with what you have. Focus on the process makes good placements. Focus on the result re-directs to counter productive activity and sometimes bad hires.
