Superstitions are nonsense. Everyone knows that.

Yet, if business is good, I won’t change the color scheme on my spreadsheets or the pictures on my home screens. So is there any value in consistent routine, even regarding non-contributing factors?

Yes, a little, as long as you think it helps or know it makes you more comfortable. Optimism improves performance. It cuts down on wasted time and contributes to confident positive work. If a superstition makes you more optimistic, keep it and enjoy it.
