Like A VC

Venture Capitalists know that they will try a number of deals that they think look good and that many of them won’t work out.

They make bets like a good poker player and, like a good poker player, they kill deals immediately when they know it won’t work out or even when it starts to look that way. If they don’t, they go out of business. Too much money and too much time spent on deals that won’t work will kill the business.

As recruiters we need to work like VCs. Strong due diligence to find the best possible matches knowing all along that they won’t all work out, always pushing for efficiency to move on without the ones that won’t work.
