Changing Pool

The candidate pool on every search is unique. Even for the same exact search at a different time.

The pool will depend on who can be reached, that has the skills and background that the hiring manager wants, and is open to considering the idea of a change. So change in the pool is constant.

Making up rules like submitting three candidates or expecting a certain number of candidates is counterproductive. There may not be three in the pool, or there may be thirty. The pool is not determined by what we want. As recruiters we don’t need to try to create the candidate pool, we need to cover it.
