Explaining A Layoff

Explaining a layoff is not as big a deal as it used to be. Of course it is still a difficult topic, but candidates should be less worried about it than they used to be. Employers are much more interested in the candidate’s skills and they know that many quality people have gone through layoffs.

I don’t agree with the suggestion here that you should use years instead of months. It’s a little thing, but an explained layoff is much better than potentially giving the appearance that you are hiding something.
