Big Data holds the promise of making things more efficient, including recruiting. There is no doubt that it will have an impact going forward, but like most things the impact will be incremental, not sweeping.

Are you going to trust the data over your feeling from the interview? What if references don’t pan out but the data says hire? And as we see today, what to do when the right candidate doesn’t seem to be there even with the help of the data, or what if they are there but have no interest?

Recruiting won’t change significantly with big data. Like other tools before it, this tool will just make the current structure more efficient.
