Reducing The Candidate Pool

There are all sorts of ways to reduce the candidate pool.

Anything that you require in your process may eliminate someone. Paperwork or background checks ahead of interviews would be a good example. While your requirements or processes may be the best way for you to go, you have to be aware of the impact on the candidate pool. If the candidates that you eliminate are few and you can do without them, your process is fine. If losing those potential candidates is something you can’t afford to do, you need to re-examine your requirements.

It’s a choice.
