There are tons of theories and strategies out there for interviews. You can ask surprising or tremendously difficult questions. Try to throw candidates off their game, run them through multiple interviews with different interviewers.

In the end, most of this is noise. You interview candidates to determine the quality and fit with your organization. Being genuine and allowing them to be genuine so you can explore their abilities and find out who they are is a great strategy.
